Isolation and screening of gold nanoparticles by microbes
Abstract
The use of microorganisms in the synthesis of nanoparticles emerges as an eco-friendly and exciting approach. In this study, the baccilus sps was screened from hatti gold mine soil samples and successfully produce gold nanoparticles. The synthesis of gold nano particles was preliminary confirmed by the change in color. The nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visible spectroscopy whose absorbance measured at 540nm followed by scaning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed the formation of nanoparticles in the range of 20-50nm in diameter at pH 7.5. Hence the present study enlightens on the green chemistry approach on the production of gold nanoparticles using a microorganism. The synthesis of gold nanoparticles by microbial source is the most reliable method of production and yield.
